The pedestrian bridge works differently than the car bridge: the surface is under the feet of people, bicycles, and carts all day long. Here, the waterproofing must not only be continuous but also durable and safe — while preserving the aesthetics of the iconic structure.

We installed a system based on methyl methacrylate: PAR1 Primer, the durable Bridgemaster membrane, and the matte protective SL Sealer, complemented by colored movement zoning. Below is the entire process in six frames from the site.

BASE PREPARATION

Abrasive blasting cleaning

The work begins with concrete. The abrasive blasting unit with vacuum recovery removes the old coating and cement slurry, revealing the structure of the concrete — such a surface provides maximum adhesion for the membrane. Dust and abrasives are collected immediately, so the bridge remains clean even in the city center.

JUNCTIONS AND DETAILS

Manual processing of complex areas

Where the surface transitions to the curb, tactile tiles, and railing posts, the membrane is finished manually — with a spatula and trowel. It is at these transitions that low-quality waterproofing most often 'leaks', so we seal each junction separately and thoroughly.

MARKING

Application of road markings

On the finished colored coating, white markings are applied using a stencil, separating bicycle and pedestrian traffic. Neat, clear lines are not only aesthetics but also safety and readability of the space for all bridge users.

Bridgemaster — 2,1 кг/м²

На ґрунт PAR1 Primer вручну, валиками, розкочується гідроізоляційно-зносостійка мембрана Bridgemaster. Суцільний еластичний шар без стиків повторює геометрію полотна й тримає постійне навантаження. Робота ведеться прямо в потоці людей — без закриття мосту надовго.

РОЗМІТКА

Нанесення дорожньої розмітки

На готове кольорове покриття по трафарету наноситься біла розмітка, що розділяє велосипедний і пішохідний рух. Акуратні чіткі лінії — це вже не лише естетика, а й безпека та зчитуваність простору для всіх користувачів мосту.

ГОТОВЕ ПОКРИТТЯ

Кольорове зонування руху

Фінальний результат — суцільне безшовне покриття з чітким зонуванням руху: червона велосмуга з розміткою по центру та зелені пішохідні доріжки обабіч. Зверху систему закриває матовий захисний лак SL Sealer. Естетика впізнаваного мосту збережена, а бетон і арматура надійно захищені від води на роки вперед.
