Weak adhesion
ZED S94 is a one-component anti-corrosion metal primer that dries in the air. It is typically supplied in a version for manual application. Spraying is also possible with the addition of solvent No. 5. For more information, please contact the Technical Department.
Metal is quite a specific substrate due to its "smoothness" and chemical stability, which means the structure has no free chemical bonds that could react with the components of liquid waterproofing. Therefore, the problem of weak adhesion to the material is very common for objects such as bridges and metal structures. Additionally, issues such as corrosion and contamination with oils and fuels have a critical impact on the deterioration of adhesion. ZED S94 is aimed at providing reliable adhesion between the smooth steel substrate and the subsequent protective layers. The primer acts as a "bridge" that enhances adhesion for resin systems based on acrylic resins (ESSELAC®). The primer also prevents corrosion and degradation of the metal due to aggressive environmental influences.

Corrosion of metal surfaces
The ZED S94 primer is applied to steel cleaned to Sa 2.5 within three hours after abrasive blasting, forming a strong adhesive layer between the substrate and the Eliminator system. It dries quickly (30 minutes at +20 °C), works at temperatures down to −15 °C, and has European Technical Approval ETA 15/0362 and HAPAS (BBA) certificates for road bridges.
Advantage 1
Ultra-high adhesion to complex metals
Advantage 2
Wide temperature range for application (down to -15°C)
Advantage 3
Fast drying in the air
Advantage 4
Intermediate protection against corrosion: After abrasive cleaning of the metal, the ZED S94 primer immediately conserves the surface, stopping the oxidation process and the formation of rust.
