Supercast CWA

A crystalline waterproofing additive for concrete that provides crystalline sealing, sealing of cracks and capillaries. Designed for use in waterproof concrete structures of type B (Integral) according to BS 8102: 2022.

Microcracks in Concrete

Microcracks in concrete are a natural phenomenon that occurs due to the shrinkage of concrete during drying, temperature fluctuations, deformation of the structure under its own weight, or uneven soil settlement. The problem of microcracks becomes particularly relevant in humid environments, for example, for objects such as underground walls, foundations, pools, reservoirs, treatment plants, tunnels, hydraulic structures, etc. The main problem is that microcracks are the primary pathway for water infiltration, which subsequently erodes the concrete and causes corrosion of the internal reinforcement. An additive like Supercast CWA has the property of turning concrete into a "living" barrier, specifically providing it with a self-healing effect. That is, if a microcrack forms in already hardened concrete and water enters it, the active chemical components of the additive react with moisture and free lime in the concrete. As a result, insoluble crystals are formed that completely grow over and seal the crack from the inside, blocking the path for water. This material also does not contain chlorides and thus does not cause corrosion of the metal reinforcement inside the concrete, making the structure durable.

01

Static cracks up to 0.4 mm wide

02

High porosity and permeability of concrete

03

Hydrostatic pressure

04

Protection of objects located below ground level, as well as outdoor structures

05

Corrosion and destruction of reinforcement due to chemicals, wastewater, saline soils

Material Features

The additive Supercast Crystalline Watertight Additive is supplied pre-weighed in water-soluble bags for convenient dosing.

Usage:

Production of waterproof concrete for conditions above and below ground levelConcrete for structures that retain liquid or protect against its penetrationConcrete for aggressive environmental impact classes

Specification

The specified concrete elements must contain the crystalline waterproofing additive Supercast Crystalline Watertight Additive in the composition of the project mixture according to the manufacturer's recommended information and be laid in accordance with the Building Standards for waterproof concrete Supercast. According to proper concrete practice: ensure care for all concrete using Concure WB Clear (75% curing efficiency) according to BS 7542.
