Material delamination due to old concrete substrate

It is quite common in construction practice to encounter a situation where the material delaminates due to the old concrete substrate. To ensure successful application, it is necessary to select the right material that can provide sufficient moisture for cement hydration and high adhesion. The uniqueness of the Renderoc Primer technology is that it works on the principle of "wet on wet," meaning it is applied to the primer while it remains wet. This allows for mutual diffusion of the primer components and the repair mortar into each other, setting simultaneously and transforming into a monolith, effectively eliminating the boundary between the 'old' and 'new' material. Additionally, since this is a two-component polymer-cement material, which contains cement and a polymer liquid additive, the polymer part compensates for the smoothness of the old concrete, ensuring high adhesion. Furthermore, the material has the ability to act as a dust-reducing agent, which is also important for a positive result.

Material features

Renderoc® Primer is a two-component polymer-cement suspension consisting of component A (specially formulated dry cement mix) and component B (polymer liquid additive). After mixing, a homogeneous adhesive suspension is formed, which is applied to the prepared concrete

surface. The Renderoc repair mortar is applied to the primer while it remains wet.

Important conditions for substrate preparation

Before applying the primer, the surface must be in a moisture-saturated state without free water present. To achieve this, the surface must be thoroughly saturated with clean water; excess water should be removed before applying the primer. In hot or windy conditions, re-moistening may be necessary to maintain the required substrate moisture.
