Destruction of concrete under the influence of atmospheric factors
Dekguard CP is an environmentally safe protective coating designed for application on new and existing structures. It is developed to protect reinforced concrete from chloride ions, oxygen, carbon dioxide (CO2), and other aggressive chemicals
Temperature fluctuations are one of the most common causes of concrete strength loss. Porous concrete absorbs water, and when freezing, water expands in volume by approximately 9%, creating colossal internal hydrostatic pressure. As a result, internal microcracks appear, and the surface layer of concrete begins to flake and crumble. For example, in a situation where cold rain follows a heat wave, the surface of the concrete quickly heats up and cools down. A temperature difference arises between the surface and the internal layer of concrete. Due to thermal stress, a "web" of small microcracks forms, making it even easier for moisture to penetrate. The Dekguard CP coating creates a hydrophobic barrier, preventing water from entering the concrete. No water inside means there is nothing to expand when freezing. The coating is also vapor-permeable, meaning it does not allow water from the outside but allows water vapor to freely escape from the inside. After all, if moisture is "trapped" under an impermeable layer, during freezing, it will simply detach this coating along with pieces of concrete. It is worth adding that Dekguard CP is UV-resistant and designed for many years of exposure to sunlight without losing elasticity and protective properties.

Dekguard CP is a one-component weather-resistant impregnating glossy primer based on acrylic copolymer and siloxane. It is supplied as a transparent coating that protects the structure from water, carbon dioxide (CO₂), and other chemicals, ensuring the exit of water vapor from the concrete.
Dekguard CP is a low-viscosity liquid that can be applied with a brush, roller, or spray method.
Specification
The protective coating is Dekguard CP, a one-component azure coating based on acrylic copolymer and siloxane, which meets the requirements of BS EN 1504-2 according to principles 1.2, 2.2, and 8.2. The total thickness of the dry film in two layers is at least 50 microns, with a CO₂ diffusion resistance equivalent to an air layer of at least 15 m. The material must have Class 1 vapor permeability resistance (Sd) and Class 1 penetration depth. Application is according to the manufacturer's written instructions on a properly prepared substrate.
Dekguard CP has a wide range of applications, for example: multi-storey parking lots, office buildings, industrial facilities, tunnels, and bridges.
