Positive and negative hydrostatic pressure
Brushbond Crystal is a one-component waterproofing system designed for waterproofing concrete and cement bases against positive and negative hydrostatic water pressure
Hydrotechnical structures, such as reservoirs, concrete pipes, treatment plants, and others, often face the problem of positive or negative hydrostatic pressure. For example, groundwater and rainwater press against the outer wall of a basement or foundation (positive hydrostatic pressure) or groundwater seeps through the concrete wall from the street, while the waterproofing is applied from the inside of the room, thus water detaches the protective coating from the surface (negative hydrostatic pressure). Brushbond Crystal penetrates deep into the pores of the concrete and forms crystals within the structure itself. In this case, it does not matter from which side the water presses, as the crystals block the capillaries inside the concrete.

Capillary pores and hairline cracks
03
Destructive effect of wastewater (especially relevant for treatment plants, concrete pipes, wells, etc.)
04
Corrosion of reinforcement
05
Waterproofing of objects located below the groundwater level (basements, reservoirs, etc.)
Brushbond Crystal is a crystalline capillary waterproofing system that consists of a mixture of special Portland cements, fillers, and chemical additives. In the presence of moisture, the active chemical components of Brushbond Crystal penetrate the concrete and react with free lime, forming insoluble crystals. The growth of crystals reduces the porosity of the concrete by blocking capillaries and filling microcracks that occur due to shrinkage or thermal deformations. Unlike membrane waterproofing materials that create only a surface barrier, Brushbond Crystal continues crystallization in the presence of water, ensuring long-lasting waterproofing.
Brushbond Crystal is designed for use in a variety of structures, such as:
- Treatment plants and water treatment stations
- Water reservoirs
- Concrete pipes
- Inspection wells
